FB FOAT: a Legend

What comes along with Fashbefriend & MarilandofStyle are many different ideas, concepts and expressions revolving around fashion and friendship including FB FOAT. FB FOAT is an acronym for Fashion Best Friends of all Time. When it comes to fashion, style and individuality, many people inspire me; not all people but fearlessly fierce people. FB FOAT is a dedication to ALL of the Fashionistas who fills me with inspiration. I feel in love with this one fearlessly fierce woman. She had this stature, confidence and rebellious demeanor when I first laid eyes on the model in Jay z’s Change Clothes music video back in 2003. She was the woman that lead the entourage as they entered the fashion show ready to shut everything down.

Omahyra Mota (now Omahyra Mota Garcia) is a bold tattooed model and what I love most about her is her “I don’t care what people think of me” attitude. Her look is masculine and feminine at the same time which is hard to pull off for any woman but she does it too well.

To be honest, When I first saw her I thought she was androgynous. I still don’t know and I still don’t care. Androgynous or not, Ms. Mota  runway resume is endless but I noticed she took a mini break from her modeling career to attend to her baby girl who was born back in 2012. Take a look back at Omahyra gracing Kimora Lee Simmons Baby Phat runway show in the early 2000’s.

Recently, Mota has taken photos for 10 Magazine Spring/Summer 2016 and they are just as great as every photo she has taken throughout her years of modeling. Check out some her photographs featured in the magazine earlier this year.

If you failed to get to know this fashion badas*, follow her on instagram @omahyramotaofficial and realize that behind all the tattoos and the rebellious attitude, there lies lots of talent and inspiration through her ability to model, conquer motherhood and remain an unique individual. You amaze and inspire me Omahyra with Love!
